Vertical Turbine Multistage Pump

Our service team successfully restored a Everflow 300FHM Vertical Turbine Multistage Pump for a major alumina refinery operation.

Upon inspection of your pump, the following issues were identified:

  • The pump was seized, with the head nut locking screw and head nut hand-tight. The motor stool is serviceable. The guard and fasteners are corroded, with some snapping during removal; all fasteners need replacement, but the guards are fine. The thrust block is missing one bolt and has three loose ones, and the thrust bearings need replacement. The shaft sleeve is seized, requiring replacement.
  • The discharge head fasteners are corroded and need replacing, but the head itself is serviceable. The three column couplings are seized and need replacement, and all columns have internal corrosion that needs sandblasting but remain serviceable.
  • Tie rod nuts were loose, and all tie rods require replacement due to damaged threads. The line shaft coupling is corroded and needs replacement, as does the shaft sleeve retainer (one retainer is missing, and two are needed). The discharge case has corrosion damage and requires replacement.
  • Four impellers are serviceable, but all collets need replacement. The bottom two chambers are seized, breaking one during removal; both chambers and impellers require replacement. The pump shaft is worn and needs replacement, while the strainer fasteners are corroded and need replacing; the strainer is serviceable.

After completing the repairs, reassembling the replaced parts, servicing the pump components, applying protective paint, and transporting, the Vertical Turbine Multistage Pump has returned to the refinery site.
