Sulzer A42-150 Centrifugal Pump
Our service team has restored a Sulzer A42-150 Centrifugal Pump for an iron ore mining operation. We identified several components needing replacement due to corrosion and cavitation, including the volute, impeller, front wear plate, and back plate. The pump case must also be replaced because of severe corrosion, but the bearing housing and shaft are still serviceable. Additionally, the mechanical seal's stationary face is worn and requires replacement along with other repairs.
The pump service included cleaning and preparing the bearing housing and shaft, as well as installing new OEM components, the volute, plate, case cover, impeller, mechanical seal, seal housing, gaskets and O-rings. After hydrostatic testing and painting to specification, the completed pump was wrapped in corrosion-protective film and returned to the mine site.
