Pumpworks have a great reputation for manufacturing quality centrifugal API 610 / ISO 13709 pumps specifically built for applications in petroleum refinery, gas processing, oil processing, petrochemical, hydrocarbon and crude oil pipeline, offshore installations (platform) and aviation jet fueling.
Building upon their product line, Pumpworks released the PWB, a volute style barrel pump manufactured to API 610 (BB5) specifications. This between bearing, radial split double case barrel pump has a multistage axial split double volute inner case with opposed impellers for thrust balancing. This product also offers as standard integral flanges to eliminate welded auxiliary connections and a double internal balance line.
API 610 11th Edition states that unless otherwise specified, pumps with radially split casings are required for any of the following operating conditions:
- A pumping temperature of 200 °C (400 °F) or higher (a lower temperature limit should be considered if thermal shock is probable)
- A flammable or hazardous pumped liquid with a relative density of less than 0.7 at the specified pumping temperature
- A flammable or hazardous pumped liquid at a rated discharge pressure above 10 000 kPa (100 bar) (1 450 psi)
