Our team undertook a comprehensive rebuild of a Leistritz L4MG twin-screw, double-volute, self-priming displacement pump.
This robust screw pump is crucial for transferring heavy fuel oil into bunker tanks for a marine company, ensuring efficient operations on their vessels.
After 25 years of operation, the pump experienced a significant failure in the drive end (DE) bearing area. This failure caused the spindles to drop, resulting in unintended contact with the bore, which could compromise the pump's integrity.
To restore the pump to its optimal condition, we employed advanced Laser Bonding techniques to repair the spindles, ensuring a strong and durable fix. After completing all necessary repairs and reassembling, our team installed the repaired pump back into the marine operation, ready to once again support their heavy fuel oil transfer needs.
